This is the most incredible bike! My wife and I, both in our 70s, felt like kids once more. It's super easy to balance, turn, ride, and come to a stop. We had a blast!

I got the X model back in Spring 2022. Being nearly 80 and retired, I have my Brittany dog, Zara, who needs her daily runs. I’ve trained her to run about 12 meters ahead of me, just a bit to the side. We head out several times a day since we live in California, and it keeps us both in great shape. Zara takes her role as my ‘personal trainer’ quite seriously – she won’t let me skip a day.

To get to our running spot, I drive to a farm road. The bike folds up easily, fits into a plastic crate to keep my small SUV safe, and I can lift it into the back without any hassle. This setup is way more secure than hanging it off the bumper, plus it lets me stop and shop when I need to.

On top of being lightweight and easy to fold, this bike is really well made. Back in the day, I had Bianchi and Specialized road bikes, and I can say my Carbo holds its own against them.

This bike is absolutely fantastic. It has a sleek look, and my riding position is super comfortable, even though I'm on the shorter side (standing at 5 feet 4)! It's a bit heavier than I thought it would be, weighing around 13 kg, but I opted for the 'X' model with disc brakes, which definitely adds some weight. Even though it took a solid 4 months to get here, I really enjoy commuting with my Carbo for a 15 km ride all summer long. Whenever I want a boost or I'm feeling a bit worn out, I just switch on the electric assist for those uphill stretches, and it makes me feel strong and free as a bird. I'd rate it a solid 4.2 out of 5 stars! Thanks, Carbo!

Alright, let me tell you something. I absolutely adore this bike. It feels like a mini-motorcycle to me. At 66 years old, it’s definitely the best option I’ve found to replace my Trek Emonda for tackling hilly terrain.

PROS:
1. I have the X model. It’s just the right height for my 27” inseam (if you opt for the smaller battery). A MUST for those of us with shorter legs. I can only adjust the seat a little, but not to the highest point.

2. The handlebars can be adjusted fully to fit my height. Whooo hooo! The distance from the seat to the handlebars is comfy and feels as stable as my Emonda when it comes to balance.

3. This bike has some serious pep! I don’t even have the throttle add-on. It takes off like a rocket, even without the upgraded battery. I’m not a big person, so larger folks might want that upgrade. Plus, the small, narrower tires have minimal drag (just pumped enough to cushion bumps), and since it’s so light, it’s super speedy. The carbon frame smooths out the ride just like my Emonda! And the battery life? It just keeps going!

4. I’m really excited about this bike. After doing my homework, I found this to be the only electric bike that matches my beloved road bike in terms of agility. All the others felt too heavy. I wasn’t disappointed at all, though I sometimes feel like I’m channeling Danny MacAskill instead of riding in the Peloton like I usually do 🤷‍♀️.

CONS:
1. Customer service was great at first, but then it just vanished after they got my payment. I didn’t hear a peep about delivery, packaging, or transport, which made me think I’d been scammed. Things turned around when I reached out to them. Must’ve been a hiccup. I’m happy now.

OVERALL:
My purpose for this bike has shifted from just group rides. I want it to help me lower my carbon footprint, do my shopping with the handy rack on the back, stay dry and clean with the fenders, and zip around town to avoid traffic. And if the battery dies or runs out, since the whole bike weighs about 30 lbs, give or take with accessories, which is roughly half the weight of other electric bikes, I can still pedal this baby home.

If you share the same goals, you’re gonna love this bike. The ability to fold it up is a nice perk for air travel. Just keep the box to pack it up for your flight. (Remember to carry the battery separately as a carry-on.)

I used to race, but now I'm just a seasoned lady in my 60s with knees that still work well. The Carbo X offers a fantastic ride. The seat is comfy, and the handlebars provide solid braking and various assist levels. You can even go without assist, which is a blast too. The frame angles and pedals are just right. I'm really pleased with the 20" wheels and the tire quality. It folds up easily and fits right on the passenger seat, which is great since I’ve got two dogs and camping gear in the back.

When I had a bottom bracket issue on my first ride, Adam from tech support made the whole troubleshooting process a breeze, adding a nice touch of humor and warmth in his emails.

The attention to detail in design, engineering, and support is impressive—right down to the grips and plugs on the handlebars.

This bike is fantastic, but if you wear reading glasses, you're in for a bit of trouble. The speed assist position on the ride computer screen is nearly impossible to read because the font is super small. They’ve gone and made the kp/h read-out huge, which honestly isn’t as crucial since any cheap speed sensor can handle that. The speed assist adjuster actually impacts the bike's performance, while the kp/h is just for info, so it seems a bit off. I use 1.5 magnification reading glasses, which isn’t too much, but if you need stronger ones, good luck. Sure, I can balance my glasses on my nose and keep an eye on the road, but after a few kilometers, it gets exhausting and isn’t safe. A simple software or firmware update could fix this issue; it’s a classic oversight from designers who are under 45 and have perfect vision. Come on, folks, let’s get this sorted out; I can’t be the only one who’s noticed this.

What a blast it is to ride this thing! The frame feels super solid with zero creaks or weird noises, the brakes work great, and the saddle is surprisingly comfy. The riding position is pretty much spot on. Plus, those Schwalbe big balloon tires soak up bumps like a champ, making for a really smooth journey. This e-bike is just fantastic! Totally recommend it! Carbo really hit it out of the park with this one!

This is the bike I always wanted as a kid. A cycle that resembles a regular bike but comes with a motor. CARBO has nailed it with their design, creating the ultimate ride for cycling enthusiasts. Plus, they’ve really outdone themselves with a support platform that offers parts, installation videos, and top-notch customer service.

I can’t emphasize enough how fantastic the customer service is. I crowdfunded my bike, and it showed up around 2018. Due to family commitments and the pandemic, I didn’t get around to putting it together until June 2022. The packaging was so impressive that the bike was in perfect condition. I reached out to customer support with a few queries, and even though my bike is no longer under warranty, they treated me like a priority.

Just so you know, I have a Model X with a 350-watt motor and a 10 amp battery. I use it for my 7-mile commute to work, which includes a steep 2-mile downhill stretch. I can go full throttle at max speed for the round trip and still have about 15-20% battery left. That hill really drains the battery. It might not be the fastest or have the longest range, but it’s definitely the lightest and coolest e-bike out there. My friends are shocked that it’s an e-bike!

These bikes are fantastic since they're lightweight and easy to lift for older folks. The ride feels comfy and they maneuver quite smoothly. The staff at the company really hustle to ensure you're satisfied and have tackled global supply challenges with speed. It took a while, but it was definitely worth it. The bikes arrived very well packed and in perfect condition.

The help and turnaround time really blew me away. I've had the bike for a couple of days now, and it does exactly what the specifications say it should.

I did run into some assembly quality problems, like screws that were stripped and wires that were a bit messy, but I chalk that up to the early days of the business. Thankfully, the support crew has always had my back.

I've been using my CARBO X for about two and a half years now, racking up over 7000 kilometers. I've taken it to a bunch of different spots, but I especially enjoy cruising along the cycling paths by the river. Typically, I pedal out using my own strength, and then I switch to the CARBO's 350W electric power on the way back. It's always a thrill! The ride home seems to fly by, and I never feel worn out. Plus, the design of the CARBO is pretty slick—I'm a big fan of its simplicity. My only worry is keeping it maintained; I've run into a few issues along the way. Thankfully, the CARBO support team has been super helpful and quick to respond. Most of the components are standard, just like those on a regular road bike, which is great because I can swap out parts and customize it a bit. Big thanks to the CARBO crew!
